We want to thank everyone for their prayers and support today. It was a long day, as there was a mixup with CT scan and we had to do a second scan in the afternoon. In the end, we did not get the news today that we were hoping for. We know that God heard all of ours and your prayers, but sometimes doesn't answer them in the way we want. The mass is bigger on his lymph node behind his bowel that we were watching. In addition , there is also a new mass behind his heart. They think there is probably some in his lungs as well. The official "read" won't be done until tomorrow due to all of the delays today, but the oncologists were confident enough to tell us that much. The team will contact experts from around the country, as well as discuss together what all our options are from here. But they were pretty clear that the scans were very discouraging and suggests that this disease is the "explosively" spreading kind. Josh and I will meet with them early next week to discuss at length where we go from here.
Please continue to pray for Drew and all of us. Thank you so much again for all of your prayers today! We are obviously very saddened by thelse findings. But I think God was preparing us for this the last few weeks. We will be okay. Death has no victory because of Jesus, and we find comfort in that truth.
~Heidi and Josh
